Rachael and Chad's story begins as does many modern romances -- online. Specifically, the dating app Hinge. In the fall of 2022, they matched on the site and (after a few sly lines from Chad) decided on a date to meet.

It was in the middle of Howe Street in Greenville, SC, that the two first met face to face. Chad remembers specifically how it was to hug Rachael for the first time, and it was such a hug that horns blared from the heavens! Though it turned out it was a car -- so they jumped to the sidewalk and began their date.

They were headed to a small local bar -- the Velo Fellow for drinks. After exactly one drink*, they headed to Jeni's Ice Cream for a night cap. From that night onward, each knew that the other was special.

Rachael and Chad went on a few more dates, but after Rachael's physical therapy clinical was up, she had to move back to her hometown of Columbus, GA.

They lost touch until nearly a year later. Unbeknownst to Chad, Rachael had moved back to Greenville. They caught each other on Hinge again, and arranged to link back up. On the second first date at Wild Ace Pizzeria in Greer, they instantly picked up where they had left off.

Fast forward to nearly a year and a half later...

Rachael and Chad were exploring Yosemite National Park on a well-deserved vacation. Both knew this was to be the trip of a lifetime; however, a new journey was about to begin. After a long day of hiking and taking in all the sights, Chad proposed to Rachael over dinner at their cabin on the day that also turned out to be the wedding anniversary of his parents. With eyes brimming with happiness, Rachael accepted his proposal.
